YOUNGSTERS at St John’s Primary School in Wellington have been learning about the customs, culture and way of life of Melanesia.
The school invited Katie Drew from the Melanesian Mission UK Charity to speak to the children on Melanesia Day. Katie brought along Sister Christie, who is visiting from the region.
Melanesia extends from the western side of the eastern Pacific to the Arafura Sea, north and north-east of Australia. It includes Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
