ROB Higgs, who captains Relyon in the Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League, has teamed up with top Taunton player Shelley Rowlands to win the mixed pairs competition in the Blackthorn British Championships at Torquay.

They beat off competition from 128 other skittles after qualifying for the finals earlier this summer.
