KEEN footballer Dan Smith got his running shoes on to take part in the British 10k London Run – and raised money for a good cause.

Dan, 22, of Burrough Way, Wellington, completed the course in just under an hour and raised £967 for the Batten Disease Family Association. His cousin Stephen Timewell died aged 20 in 2010 of the neurodegenerative disorder.
