WORK has been going on for several days to tackle a landslip on the B3227 Wiveliscombe Road at Preston Bowyer.

The road was closed as an emergency last Wednesday evening after the landslip, which followed a series of thunderstorms.

Work started to remove debris on the road and to stabilise the slope at the road-side but progress was limited by the reach of the excavators being used. Work was continuing on Wednesday with the arrival of an excavator which could reach the top of the slope at the road-side.

The road has been closed between the Mill Race roundabout at Milverton and Preston Bowyer with a signed diversion in place using the B3187 Milverton to Wellington Road and the A38 to Taunton.PHOTO: Travel Somerset
