Year 5 pupils at Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington did a sponsored walk to Wellington Monument to raise funds towards the landmark’s restoration, while Year 6 children were enjoying days at Court Fields School.

The walkers were met at the lunch stop by Emma Jones, the National Trust’s community fundraiser and engagement officer.

Members of staff brought ice lollies to revitalise the youngsters for the return journey.
