CHILDREN from Rockwell Green C of E Primary School welcomed Andy Levett, youth worker for Tone Deanery and a team from a range of Wellington churches, to participate in a creative worship day.

The team visits many schools in the area to support the teaching of RE and to present Christianity in a relevant way. The theme for the day was Love Your Neighbour and the children had the opportunity to participate in a range of prayer, storytelling and singing activities linked to friendships and relationships.

Children used pebbles to pray for people they know and were able to draw things they were thankful for.

Lyssy, aged five, said: “My favourite part was the song about God’s love being bigger than a burger.”

Sam, five, said: “The song taught us that God’s love is bigger than everything in the universe.”

The children considered what the word neighbour meant and how they can be a good neighbour.

“I loved acting the story of the Good Samaritan and thinking about who we are thankful for and how to say sorry,” said Mary, ten.
