POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the M5.

The single vehicle collision took place shortly before 9.20pm on Sunday on the northbound carriageway close to junction 25. It is believed that the vehicle, a van, suffered a puncture causing it to roll over.

As a result, one of the male occupants in the van died from the injuries he sustained. The two other men suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital. As a result of the collision, the motorway closed for more than seven hours.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the policed on 101 and quote crime reference number 0930 of 11/10.
