POLICE in Wellington are appealing for information and witnesses following a sexual assault in the town.

At around 1.20pm on Tuesday August 3, a woman was walking along a lane near Wellington Hospital, Bullford when a man allegedly touched her on the breast through her clothing.

The victim ran across the Co-op car park and the man followed.

Police want to speak to a man they think may be able to help with enquiries.

He is described as white, in his 30s, around 5ft 10in and of average build, with light brown hair and clean shaven.

He was wearing a plain bright blue tee shirt and was carrying a supermarket shopping bag.

Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident.
