WELLINGTON and District Churches Together is holding its annual March of Witness through the town on Good Friday (April 19).

The march will be preceded by a service at Wellington Baptist church at 10am.

The procession will proceed along South Street, then along High Street to St John’s Church where free hot cross buns will be served.

The march will leave the Baptist Church at about 11am with a cross bearer heading up the procession.

A spokesman for Churches Together said: “Everyone is welcome to join us for this most important day in the calendar of the Christian church. We apologise in advance to motorists for any inconvenience that is caused.

“If you are in the town centre in the morning look out for folk who will be giving away free hot cross buns and an Easter booklet.”
