VISITORS to the World Wellington Boot Throwing Championship on Saturday (September 9) will be able to meet and have their photo taken with ‘Minions’ film characters Kevin and Stuart Minion.

The Welly Boot family fun day is being held at Court Fields School, Mantle Street, Wellington, from noon.

A dog show will be held alongside the event, this year organised by SOS Romanian Dog Rescue. ‘Have a Go Archery’ is a new addition to the event.

Entry to the Welly Boot is free but a small charge is made for entering the competitions.

The organisers aim to provide something for everyone and attractions include bouncy castles, children’s entertainer, bar, hog roast, live music, Wellington Silver Band, raffle – proceeds to Wellington Children’s Centre – and other stands.
