CHILDREN at Rockwell Green Primary School have been busy getting into the Christmas spirit with two nativity plays and a carol service.

The Reception children in Badger Class (left) performed ‘Whoops-a-Daisy Angel’, a story about a disorganised angel who is chosen to show the way to Bethlehem.

The Year 1 and 2 children in Hedgehog and Kingfisher Class (right) performed ‘Are We Nearly There Yet?’ a time travelling story in which a modern family end up travelling to Bethlehem and seeing the new baby Jesus.

The Key Stage 2 children, who held their carol service at All

Saints’ Church, wrote thoughtful pieces to share with the congregation.

Among these were the children’s own take on the 12 Days of Christmas, the results of a discussion between the children as to whether they wanted material gifts or to spend more time with their family – the latter won by a huge margin – and a look back at the term’s work on the Archie Project and the thoughts and feelings of the children working alongside the residents of Wellington House.
