MILVERTON couple Myles and Karen Davies, who began a year-long travel adventure around Europe in February, like it so much they have become ‘full-time travellers’.
The couple left their bricks and mortar home to live in a 7-5 motorhome with the intention of staying away for 12 months.
But six months on Karen and Myles are going strong, with their van and their relationship still ‘in tact’.
In fact, they love the simplicity of their lifestyle so much that they have decided to be full-time travellers. They have settled well into their nomadic lives and although they both agreed that while life on the road has its challenges, the benefits far outweigh the difficulties.

MP's column: Gideon Amos, Liberal Democrat MP for Taunton and WellingtonKaren has admitted to not knowing quite where the time has gone. She said: “Half a year has flashed past us already and we’ve een privileged to see so many beautiful sights and learn so much about the countries we’ve visited.
And, on top of that, we’ve learnt so much about ourselves – we are more relaxed, happier than we’ve ever been and have a very different perspective on life – travel has certainly made us richer.”
So far, they have covered more than 7,500 miles, visited six countries and today – you will find them catching their breath in Slovenia before crossing into Italy for the autumn.
They have many highlights but agreed that watching vultures catching thermals in Spain was pretty special, as were the acres of purple lavender fields in Provence, France.
The Easter celebrations of southern Spain were memorable and the rich array of cities from Seville, Annecy and Colmar have been incredible.
“The mountains have always drawn us,” added Karen. “And hiking on a glacier in June was pretty surreal – and some of the mountain passes we have driven have been hairy, to say the least.”
It has not just been one long holiday. Since March, Karen and Myles, affectionately known as The Motoroamers, have put their energy into writing books and articles and building their interactive website. They log their experiences via their creative photography, blogs and entertaining vlogs, which are going viral.
Myles has no idea why the videos are so appealing. He said: “I’m just a normal bloke seeing the funny side of things – it’s just gone mad.”
They are busy translating their travels into an income stream, where they help others live their dreams beyond fear – just as they have done.
