MP Rachel Gilmour is to embark on a summer tour next month to meet people in ‘every corner’ of her constituency.

Mrs Gilmour, whose Tiverton and Minehead constituency covers West Somerset, several parishes bordering Wellington, and parts of the Blackdown Hills and Culm Valley, will hold a series of surgeries across the area.

The five-date tour will provide people with an opportunity to ask any questions of Mrs Gilmour on both local and national issues.

The ‘Q&A’ sessions will be open to anybody to attend without needing to book a ticket or to make an appointment.

Mrs Gilmour said: “I am delighted to announce the dates for my upcoming summer tour.

“As well as the constituency surgeries I hold each month, these open question and answer sessions will provide an opportunity for constituents to ask me questions about the issues that matter to them.

“I warmly invite all constituents from across the Tiverton and Minehead constituency to come along to one of these dates.

“You do not need an appointment, just turn up on the day.”

The confirmed summer tour surgery dates are:

  • Nynehead Village Hall, Saturday, July 12, from 3 pm to 4 pm
  • Watchet Phoenix Centre, Saturday, July 19, from 3 pm to 4 pm
  • Uffculme Magelake Hall, Saturday, August 2, from 12 noon to 1 pm
  • Dulverton Town Hall (upstairs), Friday, August 8, from 11 am to 12 noon
  • Porlock Village Hall, Saturday, August 11, from 11 am to 12 noon

People will also be able to book a constituency surgery appointment in the hour following the sessions if they have a private issue they would like to discuss with Mrs Gilmour and her staff.

Private appointments can be booked by emailing [email protected] or calling 07356 087010.
