NATURALIST and broadcaster Chris Sperring is coming to Nynehead Court when the care home hosts a Nature Day later this month.

Wellington among three fire crews working to free horse trapped in farm slurry pitMr Sperring and photographer Ian Anderson have agreed to host talks during the day, which will also include a demonstration by Walks with Hawks and a walk to the otter survey site on the River Tone.
The Nature Day also has stalls and activities for all the family, including the opportunity to make a bug hotel, wildflower bomb and mini-butterfly garden; and nature groups including the National Trust, Somerset Wildlife Trust, Somerset Otter Group and Marine Life Rescue will be exhibiting on the day. All profits from the event will go to nature-based good causes.
Home manager Angela Watkins said: “Following the success of our previous Nature Day we decided that we would like to host another event.
“We will be using the church, orangery and grounds of Nynehead Court for our activities and displays, so visitors will be able to have a look at our facilities while they enjoy the day.”
The event is on Saturday, March 25, from 11am – Mr Sperring will give an official welcome at 11.15am. Tickets priced £5 adults – free for children – are available from Nynehead Court or at the gate.
