NETWORK Rail has confirmed that repairs to Tonedale Bridge will begin next month.
The works had previously been expected to be carried out at the beginning of May.
A section of Tonedale Bridge was destroyed following a traffic collision on April 10, which involved a vehicle colliding with a brick wall.

The wall collapsed onto the Network Rail operated railway track below and trains were temporarily suspended while engineers cleared the debris.
Network Rail contractors cordoned off the damaged side of the bridge, erecting temporary traffic lights to regulate crossing traffic, with the hope of undertaking repairs in early May.
A spokesperson for Network Rail has since confirmed that that “scaffolding is due to go up in early July for the rebuild to commence the week of the 12th July.”
