MICK Aston’s Young Archaeologists (MAYA), newly formed in honour of the late Time Team star, is being launched at Somerset County Museum on Saturday.
Phil Harding from the Channel 4 programme will attend the free event, which runs from 10am to 4pm.
Visitors will have the chance to excavate archaeological artefacts, take along their own finds for identification by an expert, make their own Bronze Age brooch, see geophysics displays and much more.
MAYA is open to everyone aged eight to 16 years. Young Archaeologist Clubs are involved in activities including visiting and investigating archaeological sites and historic places, trying out traditional crafts, taking part in excavations, and lots more.
