TWELVE months after asking Wellington Town Council to think about the hard of hearing during meetings the request has been made again.
Brian Hillier told the town council at the authority’s annual parish meeting in May 2017 that it was difficult for those with hearing problems to hear the full proceedings of council meetings.
Back in 2017 the council agreed that the ‘provision of an appropriate device should be investigated and used at future meetings’.
Shoot forward to the council’s annual parish meeting held at the Wellington United Reformed Church earlier this month and Mr Hillier made the request again.
“It really is a problem for those people who are hard of hearing,” he told councillors.
He has suggested a hearing loop system could be used which would be of benefit to those people like himself.
The council has said that it would continue to investigate the matter.
