HOOLIGANS are making the lives of people living near the controversial Howard Road play area, Wellington a 'nightmare', local residents have claimed.

They have told of graffiti, broken fences, scratched cars and verbal abuse.

Now, Wellington Town Council is to move a CCTV camera from Mantle Street to Howard Road following a request from local people at a Police and Local Communities Together meeting just nine months after the £45,000 play area opened.

But Susanjean Anderson, of Wellington Tenants and Residents Association, whose house overlooks the play area, said this week the claims had been "blown out of proportion."
