Wellington is set to undergo two nights of noisy night-time works as broadband firm Jurassic Fibre install ultrafast fibre cabling.
Somerset County Council has confirmed works to Wellington High Street are scheduled to commence on Wednesday March 22 and conclude on Thursday March 23. Works will take place between the hours of 6.30pm and 11pm on both days.
Jurassic Fibre said that the work was being undertaken at these late hours on advice from the Highways Authority, in the interests of safety.
A letter distributed by Jurassic Fibre to High Street properties warned of possible disruption. Jurassic Fibre said: "To complete the work, we will need to use power tools, which will generate a degree of noise.
"We understand this may disrupt the daily routine for you and other members of your household, and we would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for this."
The road will not be closed while the works are carried out, instead workers will operate under signals.
