ABOUT 50 residents, visitors and guests attended Nynehead Court’s Cupcake Day on a very warm Saturday, to support the Alzheimer’s Society.
The event was organised by the Friends of Nynehead Court with Judy Iredale taking the lead role, and was part of the Alzheimer’s Society’s national Cupcake Day initiative to raise funds and awareness.
The event took place in the home’s Orangery and gardens, and due to the heat people generously bought cakes to take home with them. The event raised £350 for the charity, with Gift Aid increasing the total it will receive.
Home manager Angela Watkins said: “Nynehead Court is always delighted to host events on behalf of local and national good causes, and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to and attended our Cupcake Day for making it a success.
“Our next event is our craft fair on Saturday, August 19, which will support the charity Ace Care Education, based in Somerton.”
