WWN photo contributor Dave Hellyer sent in these pictures of a huge oak tree in Barn Meads Road, Wellington, being felled.

He said he would miss the tree which was home to a family of noisy crows for as long as he could remember. He added: “Unfortunately the oak was found to have a fungus which attacks the roots and undermines the whole tree. In the logs you can see the centre is grey.”
