PAPRIKA in Fore Street, Wellington, which sells ethically produced home accessories, unusual gifts and jewellery, is to close.
Sue and Slyder Smith, who run the shop, say it will shut after 12 years’ trading, along with the website paprikashop.co.uk, at the end of the month.
They will trade as normal for the next few weeks but stock will be run down and some items will be reduced in the shop’s final January sale.
In a statement they said: “Over the years we have gone through many ups and downs and battled to survive through the recession but after a particularly difficult year, an uncertain economic future plus a changing landscape on the High Street we have decided to call it a day.
“It has been our passion to trade with ethical and Fair Trade suppliers bringing unusual and interesting gifts, jewellery and fashion to Wellington, selling products that we have genuinely loved ourselves and to always try our best to offer the best customer service with our knowledge and enthusiasm.
“In doing this we have very much enjoyed becoming part of the Wellington community and have made good friendships with many of our customers.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your custom over the years and hope to see you in the shop in our final month.”
