SHOCKED ambulance service officials have spoken out angrily after two ambulancemen were attacked when they went to the aid of a male patient in Wellington.
Two male paramedics, aged 43 and 48, working for South Western Ambulance Service are recovering after the assault, which took place at 10.15pm on Thursday, May 14 at an address in Wardleworth Way in the town.
Now, Ken Wenman, the chief executive South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust, which provides ambulance and urgent care services for Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, has issued a warning to patients: "If you want an ambulance dispatched without delay, do not abuse our staff."
