A CALL for action to be taken against motorists who park and obstruct pavements at Rockwell Green was made by Cllr Marcus Barr at the November meeting of Wellington Town Council.

It was getting worse, he said, pointing out that recently the local fire brigade had to knock on a door to get a car moved as there was insufficient room left for the fire engine to get through.

As well as parking on pavements some motorists were parking right on junctions, making it very difficult for other drivers.

PC Rob Wood, who was at the council meeting, said the police would look into the problem and deal with offenders.
