THE latest winner of the Wellington Pet of the Month competition, run by Co-op Funeralcare and the WWN, is rescue beagle Stevie.

Owner Colin Smith, of Oakfield Park, Wellington, said that for the three years before he had her Stevie was hardly walked, had no toys and games – and was not vaccinated or microchipped.

He added: “She has been a complete joy, has a wonderful disposition, loves children and playing with other dogs, and everyone says she is so cute. Stevie must be really happy now and deserves to be pet of the month.”
