PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:

Parking restrictions at Barn Meads Road

Somerset Council have given notice that, in exercise of the provisions of Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to introduce a temporary ban on parking at Barn Meads Road, Wellington.

This order commenced on Monday, October 13, and will run until Friday, December 19. This is to enable Kier, working on behalf of Somerset Council, to carry out footway resurfacing works.

The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the order for emergency vehicles.

Road closure in Wellington Without

Somerset Council has given an order proposing to prohibit all traffic from proceeding along Wrangcombe Road, Wellington Without, from the junction with Woodford Farm Lane to the junction with Higher Woodford Lane for a total distance of 195 metres.

This order is in place enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement works.

The works will be in place for six hours, commencing at 9.30am on Thursday, October 30, and concluding at 3.30pm on the same day.

Pole replacement works to close Honiton Road

Somerset Council have ordered that Honiton Road, Trull, will be temporarily closed to all traffic from its junction with Little Canonsgrove Lane, northwards for a total distance of 505 metres.

The order will be in place for six hours on Monday, October 27, with work commencing at 9.30am and concluding at 3.30pm.

This is to enable Openreach to carry out a pole replacement.

Pyles Thorne closure

Somerset Council have made an order to close Pyles Thorne, Wellington, from the junction with Pyles Thorne Road, north-eastwards for a total distance of 235 metres.

This order commenced on Monday, October 13, and the road will be reopened on Saturday, October 18, after five days of work.

This order enables OCU Group Ltd to carry out ducting works on behalf of Virgin Media. There is no alternate route for this closure.
