A PLAY area on a new housing estate in Wellington is still unfinished - four months after it should have been completed by the builders.

Martin Grant, who bought a home on the Longworth Farm estate two years ago, said: “We were promised the play area would be finished in February and it’s not. I have two youngsters and they are disappointed they cannot play there. There is no sign the work will be done. The roads have not been tarmacked or taken over by the council and they, too, are not finished. We were also promised allotments but I’ve no idea where they are.”

“Bloor Homes built the estate but are failing at the last hurdle. They have taken their money and have run. Some of the houses on the estate were selling for between £350,000 and £500,000 towards the end. That’s a lot of money and the builder should have kept to its promise to complete facilities on the estate.

“We have had two years of dust and dirt on the estate. We have put up with all of this. I have accepted this on a new estate. They were given planning permission to provide various amenities and community areas and they haven’t done this.

“I have tried to repeatedly to get Bloor to do something about this but they are not interested.”
