POLICE in Wellington have promised to be relentless in their crackdown on any anti social behaviour on Hallowe'en night.

Officers aiming to take ther horror out of Hallowe'en will patrol the town on the look out for 'trick or treaters' armed with missiles, eggs or flour.

All police rest days have been cancelled in the town on October 31, traditionally their busiest night of the year, and local officers have already been out distributing posters for elderly people to put on their front doors to help deter pranksters.

The double-sided posters, available at local post offices and shops, as well as the offices of the WWN, can also be used to indicate that householders would like Hallowe'en callers.
