A POLICE incident unfolding in the north of Wellington on Saturday afternoon (December 23) took neighbours by surprise.

It was happening in Olands Road, 400 yards from the town’s police station.

A marked police motorway pursuit vehicle and an unmarked police car appeared to have pulled over a 2022 registered MG car which had been driven along Victoria Street and turned into Olands Road.

Several officers surrounded the woman driver, who was questioned before being taken away in one of the vehicles.

One resident told the Wellington Weekly: “I do not know what is going on.

“They pulled over a woman in a car.

“She is foreign but I do not know what she is supposed to have done.”

Avon and Somerset Police has been asked if it can provide any details of the incident.
