Wellington & District Rotary Club celebrated the start of the new Rotary year with the official handover of the presidency from Martin Chilcott to Chris Barrett.

Chris is well known in the area both professionally and in his roles at Wellington Arts Centre. In fact, recently, he was a singing President – F D Roosevelt – in Annie!

Under outgoing president Martin Chilcott the club raised more than £3,500, bringing the group’s total since starting in just 2012 to well over £25,000.

Most charities supported have been local and members have had a lot of fun while doing so. The club is friendly and informal and welcomes new members and visitors to its meetings held twice-monthly at The Dolphin.
