Villagers have been trying to get a village hall for more than 30 years, but lack of funds hampered their progress.
The chairman of the Langford Budville Village Hall trustees, Keith Moore, said: "This is a bit of a coup for us."
The prince had been in Taunton earlier to officially open the Museum of Somerset.
