A WOMAN motorist suffered a number of serious injuries in a car crash which partially blocked a Wellington town centre road on Friday morning (February 27).

The car crashed in front of the Blacksheep Barbershop hairdresser in Mantle Street, opposite the junction with Bulford.

The woman suffered a punctured lung, broken ribs, and a number of minor injuries and paramedics took her by ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.

A family member took to social media to praise ‘the Good Samaritans’ who stopped and called the emergency services and sat with her until help arrived.

They also thanked Blacksheep Barbershop staff and the police officers and police community support officers (PCSOs) who attended the scene.

The casualty was said to be ‘doing very well, considering’.
