THE third – and largest – annual Green Day will be held in Uffculme on Saturday.
The community fun day, organised by Uffculme Green Team, will be packed with entertainment and activities for all the family with a recurring green theme.
Organiser Delia Kennedy said: “This is a real highlight in the year for all of the groups across Mid Devon involved in green issues to get together and celebrate.
"On top of that, it is a great day out for everyone! There will be lots of activities for children, good food and music. Who would have thought that being green can be so much fun?”
The day will feature fabulous children’s activities, a ‘give and take’ stall, advice on green issues, book sales and opportunities to buy local produce.
Entertainment from band The Wasp in the Apple and local schools will be popping up during the day, and visitors will also find a number of interesting talks and a question and answer session to get involved with.
Delicious food and refreshments will be available from Tiverton-based community group ReROOTed, along with ice-cream from Reapers. The event will end with a rousing surprise which organisers want everyone to join in.
Uffculme Green Day is at the Magelake Hall in the village from 10am-4pm.
Uffculme Green Team is part of Tiverton Area Communities in Transition (TACT), an organisation supported by the Community Action Group (CAG) Devon project.
