PLANS to build metro-style railway stations at Wellington and Cullompton have received a boost with news that Mid Devon District Council has agreed to put £40,000 into a feasibility study.

Wellington Town Council and Cullompton Town Council have each agreed to stump up £10,000, pushing the total to £100,000.
Richard Chesterton, deputy leader of Mid Devon District Council, said: “I am pleased to confirm Mid Devon’s support for this work and I hope that through this funding, we will move another step closer.”
Cllr Mark Edwards, deputy leader at Taunton Borough Council, said: “This is a major step forward, and I am so impressed with the commitment in time and effort that is being garnered to make this idea a reality.”
