Wiveliscombe based transport charity Wivey Link has just received a £500 cheque for their vital work. Wivey Link provides a rural pickup and drop off service for many Wiveliscombe locals who would otherwise be cut off from places such as Taunton due to lack of public transport.
The donation comes from Milverton Parish Council in recognition to their hard work in the village.
Wivey Link has over 60 registered passengers in the Milverton area, all of whom are offered transport services come rain or shine.
Pauline Homeshaw, Chair of the Wiveliscombe area partnership said: “We are so very grateful for this donation as it shows how much we are appreciated and the need that there is out there for our services.
Since we also manage the Wiveliscombe Library on behalf of the Wivey Town Council, the Milverton Council are also aware of that work and of how many Milverton residents use the library service.”
