A Puddings and Pimms evening at the Church Room, Hemyock, was a resounding success attracting nearly 50 people and making £177 profit.

It was hoped the newly refurbished garden would allow visitors to enjoy a lovely summer evening but the wet weather spoiled these plans and the event was held indoors.

The Friends of St Mary’s, which organised the social occasion, supplied an array of puddings including tiramisu, banoffee pie, trifles, fruit salad, chocolate mousse, lemon meringue pie, fresh strawberries and Bakewell tart. The highlight of the evening and greatly enjoyed was the Pimms made by Friends member Sarah Folland.
