A SKI trip to Cesana, Italy, has been celebrated by Court Fields School, Wellington, as an ‘outstanding success’.

The trip saw 37 students and five staff enjoy an ‘unforgettable week’ in the Italian Alps.

The group was greeted on arrival by fresh snowfall, with another layer of powder falling midweek and creating perfect skiing conditions for all abilities.

Students ranged from complete beginners to experienced skiers, and by the end of the week every child was confidently skiing around the mountain, a testament to their hard work, determination, and the support of the four ski groups led by expert instructors.

Across all four groups, students made consistent progress throughout the week.

Their instructors, along with hotel staff and even members of the public during the journey, repeatedly commented on the children’s enthusiasm, manners, and positive attitude.

They represented both the school and their wider community with pride.

The group stayed in a well-run hotel, where staff catered for everybody’s needs with kindness and efficiency.

Food was plentiful, hearty, and offered students an opportunity to enjoy a wide range of local dishes, with pasta proving to be a clear favourite.

The combination of skiing, social activities, and the stunning mountain environment helped students build confidence, resilience, independence, and a lasting appreciation for the Alps.

Throughout the journey, from travelling through the UK and France to the group’s time in Italy and the return home, students received numerous positive comments from members of the public, coach drivers, the hotel manager, and ski instructors.
