THE Fire Service visited Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington in the week before half-term.

Pupils in Years 2 and 5 were given a fire safety talk which included information about how to make homes fire safe and what to do in the event of a fire.

Children in Key Stage 1 have had the chance to explore fictional and real-life heroes as part of their Superheroes topic and the conclusion to this was a visit by a fire appliance.

Firefighters talked about their uniform and equipment – using a class teacher as a model – and pupils even had a chance to try the equipment on for themselves.
