THE railway line between Taunton and Exeter St Davids is closed for about three weeks during maintenance works on Whiteball Tunnel at Sampford Arundel.

Great Western Railway is putting alternative arrangements in place for passengers during the scheme, which is one of a series of works that will affect journeys through the South West.

The Taunton-Exeter route will be closed to trains until Friday March 8.

A Great Western Railway spokesman said long distance services between the South West and London Paddington would be diverted around the work, adding up to 60 minutes to journey times. Replacement buses will operate to intermediate stations.
