I was walking down South Street on Friday, July 17, around 2.45pm when I had a nasty fall outside Welch’s Jewellers shop – I tripped on the pavement somehow and landed on the hard surface.
My knee and leg had gone numb and I couldn’t get up. I took the impact also on my left arm and hand. I was laying there and two lovely young men came to my rescue – they had driven by in their work van and saw me lying there.
They chatted to me and then called across to another young man – they helped me to my feet very gently and asked the jewellers for a chair for me to sit on.
I want to say a huge thank you to them because I would not have been able to get up on my own. My knights in shining armour!
