SCORES of people tried activities from fencing and archery to ball games and tai-chi as part of the Let’s Get Sporty event at Wellington Park.

The free event last Wednesday was part of Knightstone Housing Association’s Creating Active Communities initiative – a Somerset-wide programme of sports activities.

The initiative is led by Knightstone Housing in partnership with Somerset Activities & Sports Partnership, Tone Leisure, Age UK Somerset, Somerset Community Foundation and 1610.

The initiative receives £167,450 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund. 

Partners involved in the event included Taunton Deane Borough Council, Tone Leisure and Besom.
