EARLY years lecturer Melanie Sutton is planning to launch a community-based baby and toddler playgroup in Wellington.
Sticky Fingers Messy Play, which has a sensory approach to play, is planned to run fortnightly from next month.
Melanie said: “Messy play is stimulating, fun and educational – it promotes exploration, fine motor skills, confidence and develops talk. But not everyone wants this mess in their own home, which is why I have set up messy play. I value the importance of play and want to spread the word.”
She will be running themed sessions and so far has run taster events ‘The Tiger That Came to Tea’ and ‘Minion’ messy mornings.
