MORE than 70 real ales, plus cider and perry, will be on sale at the Exeter Festival of Winter Ales this weekend.

Last year the event attracted about 1,600 people who were able to sample a range of beers from breweries the length and breadth of the country.

This year a number of Christmas brews will be on offer including Christmas Stocking from Coach House Brewery in Warrington and Winter Solstice from the Pictish Brewery in Rochdale.

The Exeter and East Devon CAMRA event is being held at Exeter City FC’s ground St James Park on Friday and Saturday (January 19-20) from 11am-11pm.

Music is on offer both nights with Simple Chaos on Friday from 7.30pm and In2Theblue on Saturday from 5.30pm, and hot and cold food will be available. Entry for CAMRA members is £4 and £6 for non-members, including commemorative tankard.
