REMINISCENCE Learning, based at Tonedale Mill, Wellington, is calling on local organisations to be part of Dementia Awareness Week.

The charity is organising its second annual Red and Yellow Day for Friday, May 20, to raise funds and wants organisations to sign up and run events on the day.

Events could include cake sales, sporting challenges, fancy dress competitions, sponsored waxing, bring-and-buy and many more.

All funds raised will go to inter-generational dementia awareness, community projects, carers’ groups and community dementia awareness training.

The main colours of Reminiscence Learning’s mascot, Archie, are red and yellow, the last colours to be lost in the ageing eye. All organisations that get involved will receive a visit from Archie on the day.
