A CONTROVERSIAL plan for two mental rehabilitation units in Wiveliscombe has been given a green light by planners.

Conditional approval has been granted by Taunton Deane Borough Council's planning committee despite widespread opposition from local people for the 28-bedroom locked unit, together with a further 28-bedroom low secure hospital at Wiveliscombe Business Park, called Meadow View Care Facility, for patients from across the South West.
