Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 9pm August 15 to 6am October 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 24 to junction 26 lane closures for barrier renewal.

A30, from 8pm October 27 2022 to 5am December 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9pm October 3 to 6am October 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 - lane closure for white lining/road markings.

M5, from 8pm October 11 to 5.30am October 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 to 26 - lane closure for structure maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
