Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm July 25 to 6am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 25 to 24 diversion route on behalf of Somerset County Council.

M5, from 9pm July 11 to 4am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 - mobile lane closure for drainage works.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

M5, from 9pm September 5 to 6am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 25 to 26 lane closures for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
