PUPILS in Upper Key Stage 2 and staff at St John’s Primary School in Wellington enjoyed a Second World War picnic as the culmination of their autumn topic.
The children researched wartime recipes online, chose a recipe and made it at home. The end result was tables groaning under the weight of cakes, biscuits and
puddings (pictured).
The children listened to music from the era until an air raid siren signalled an orderly evacuation onto the playground.
