TEENAGER Lucy Theobald of Immenstadt Drive, Wellington, is planning to go on a conservation trip to South Africa next year and is working hard to raise the £2,000 to finance it.

Lucy, who is 14 and a pupil at Castle School, Taunton, will be working with rangers in nature parks and game reserves to combat poachers, doing community work at a primary school as well as going on safaris and bush walks.

The three-week trip is from July to August 2017 and Lucy is looking for sponsors. So far she has raised about £500 from coffee mornings, jumble sales, cake sales, driveway sales, car washing, babysitting and part-time jobs.

She is organising an Easter craft fair at Comeytrowe Community Hall, Taunton, on Saturday, March 19.

Anyone who would like to sponsor Lucy or offer part-time jobs should contact her mother Tara Theobald on Wellington 665135.
