Rumwell Farm Shop’s cafe has a new kitchen manager following the promotion of Scott Crocker.

Anne Mitchell, joint owner of the farm shop on the A38 between Wellington and Taunton, said: “Scott has nearly 30 years’ experience in the catering industry and has worked within our cafe for three-and-a-half years.

“Prior to being our kitchen manager, Scott was our chef and then second chef.”

Scott’s role includes planning the menus, managing staff in the kitchen, purchasing stock and making sure everyone is trained in food preparation and kitchen safety techniques.

Scott, 46, and a father of two children, holds a range of City and Guilds catering qualifications and also took a bar and cellar management course.

In his spare time, he enjoys keeping fit by cycling, swimming and going to the gym.

He said: “The food in our cafe is home-made and really is food from farm to fork.”
